13-Tones Metallophones: The Visual Connection
The bars with the laser of the note enable a visual connection between the sheet music and the instrument. When improvising with self-created melodies, children always have a visual reference to the printed notation. From the other perspective, the players get a feeling of how a play note sounds.
All Primary metallophones have 32 x 8 mm (Soprano and Alto) or 36 x 10 mm (Bass) sound bars with fundamental tuning. The newly designed resonator box with enhanced acoustics are made of solid and laminated birch. The resonator boxes of the Musicube metallophones are made from FSC® certified timber from well managed forests. In addition, all wood surfaces are protected with Water-based paint, an environmentally safe, all-natural varnish.
Each metalophone is equipped with a carrying bag to stow 3 bars (2 x f-sharp, 1 x b-flat).

Three Keys, One Instrument
The add-on bars are not accessories — they are a modulating system. Swap the two F-sharps and the B-flat in and out of their flexible pins, and the same 052501-class classroom instrument plays in C major, G major or F major. A term of songs in C, then a term of folk repertoire in G, then F major pieces — no second instrument, no retuning, just three bars in a cloth bag.
- C major as shipped: the full diatonic 13-bar core plus the add-ons bagged separately
- G major: insert both F-sharp bars and the set transposes upward
- F major: insert the B-flat bar for flat-side repertoire
Teaching Melody First
The soprano register is where a child’s singing voice and an instrument first agree. Children already carry the tune — the 051301 simply puts it under their mallets, one octave above the harmony instruments, exactly where they sing it.
- Echo games: the teacher plays two bars, the class answers — listening before reading
- Sing-then-play: pupils locate the first note of a song they already know, then trace the melody bar by bar
- Improvisation frames: set three bars free and let children invent endings within one key
- Call-and-response duets: melody leaders trade phrases across the instrument’s two octaves
- Performance ready: a term of melody work ends with a class concert piece every parent recognizes
Melody-first sequencing is why this register leads the Primary line: the visual reference on the bars turns every sung phrase into a findable, playable map, and the colored-keys songbook supplies the repertoire for the whole journey.

Product Positioning
The 051301 Soprano is the melody voice of our three-part Primary metallophone platform: sixteen aluminum bars (32 × 8 mm, including the F-sharp and B-flat add-ons) spanning C5 to A6, mounted on an FSC® certified birch resonance box with multiple chambers. It is the instrument children start melodies on — the visual connection between the laser-etched bar letters and the printed notation means improvisation and reading grow together.
It shares the production line, tuning bench and certification process with our own consumer brand Musicube — the same instrument that is already selling on the US retail market under the Musicube name. For a complete Orff-style section, pair it with the 051302 Alto (C4–A5, baby blue mallets) and the 051303 Bass (C3–A4, dark blue mallets) from the same platform — one choir, three registers, matching construction.
Quality & Manufacturing
The resonator box is built from 12 mm birch plywood with FSC® certified timber from well managed forests, finished in water-based paint — an environmentally safe, all-natural varnish. Special aluminum bars (32 × 8 mm) receive sandblasting and anodizing treatment for the clear and powerful sound, and sit on flexible pins over multiple resonance chambers. Batch-level EN 71, ASTM F963 and GB 6675 reports are available for every shipment, issued under your brand name.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does a 13-tone instrument come with 16 bars?
A: Thirteen diatonic bars are mounted; the other three (2 × F-sharp, 1 × B-flat) travel in the cloth bag. Insert them on the flexible pins and the same instrument tunes to C, G or F major — one set covers three key signatures.
Q: What does FSC® certified timber mean for our listing?
A: The resonator box is made from timber from well managed forests, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council — a documented sustainability claim that supports EU green procurement tenders and eco-labeled retail listings under your brand.
Q: Can this soprano model play together with the alto and bass versions?
A: That is the design intent — the 051301 (C5–A6), 051302 Alto (C4–A5) and 051303 Bass (C3–A4) form a three-part choir with matching 32 × 8 mm bar construction and the same rubber-mallet hardness system, so one classroom can run melody, harmony and bass lines simultaneously.
Q: What is the MOQ for OEM orders?
A: MOQ and carton configuration depend on your customization level and destination market — they are confirmed on your quotation rather than a fixed published number. Send your quantity and target market for a costed proposal within 24 hours.
