The high-grade tambourine is the step-up in our percussion range: a beech plywood shell in PU paint, a deeper 55 mm frame, and a multi-layer composite drumhead built to feel like animal hide while staying easy to wipe clean. Three diameters share one shell design — the 6″ (010601) for preschool circles, the 8″ (010801) for primary classrooms, and the 10″ (011001) for ensemble and stage work.

What Changes When You Move Up a Grade
Buyers comparing our two tambourine families ask one question: what does the upgrade actually change? Four things — and all four are visible in the hand and in a product photograph.
| Shell timber | Poplar plywood → beech plywood — a denser sheet with a tighter, paler grain |
| Shell depth | 45 mm → 55 mm — a deeper frame that sits more securely in the palm |
| Finish | Water-based paint → PU paint — a harder, smoother film with more sheen |
| Drumhead | Hygienic plastic head → multi-layer composite head with a hide-like surface feel |
Everything else stays the same on purpose: the same chamfered bearing edge, the same finger hole, the same stainless steel bell hardware, the same full-color box. A school can upgrade part of its percussion trolley without changing how the instruments look, feel in the hand or get ordered.
One Family, Three Sizes: The Ladder
| 010601 · 6″ | 165 mm · 4 stainless steel bells · smallest hands, circle-time shaking, gift-box friendly |
| 010801 · 8″ | 215 mm · 6 stainless steel bells · the classroom default and the volume size for class sets |
| 011001 · 10″ | 265 mm · 8 stainless steel bells · the fullest voice — ensemble, church and stage use |
All three share the 55 mm frame and the same black binding ring, so a mixed order arrives looking like one instrument rather than three unrelated products.
Optional Densities and Sizes
The same shell is also built with denser jingle sets and in one larger diameter, for markets that want more cut:
- 8″ with 12 brass bells — a warmer, louder voice than the stainless version — see the dedicated model page (010810 / 010811)
- 10″ with 16 stainless steel bells — a dense-jingle size for larger classrooms and stage use — see the dedicated model page (011006)
- 12″ with 20 stainless steel bells — the largest frame we build in this family — see the dedicated model page (011206)
Denser versions are quoted per order and share the same shell, head and finish as the three models above.
Grip, Edge and Head: The Three Details Buyers Check
- The handy finger hole is cut through the shell, so the tambourine hangs on one finger and can be shaken from the wrist instead of gripped in a fist — the difference between playing for one song and playing for a whole lesson
- The chamfered bearing edge rounds the join between shell and head: comfortable against the palm for slap and thumb-roll playing, and a finished edge rather than exposed plywood
- The multi-layer composite head is tensioned over that edge and closed with the black binding ring. It reads like a skin head in catalog and classroom photographs, while wiping clean and holding up in humid rooms

Product Positioning
This is the reference beech tambourine of our range. It sits above the standard poplar tambourine (010602 / 010802 / 011002) and pairs with the Kids Hand Drum (030602 / 030802 / 031002) — the jingle voice and the pure drum voice of the same percussion section. Both families come off the same production line and the same testing bench, so a buyer can assemble a complete rhythm kit from one supplier. Above this model sits the birch tambourine with a real buffalo-leather head (010605 / 010805 / 011007), for programmes that want the traditional look.
It shares the production line and tuning bench with our own consumer brand Musicube — the same instrument family already selling on the US retail market under the Musicube name.
Quality & Manufacturing
The shell is built from sturdy laminated beech plywood with a chamfered bearing edge and finished in PU paint; the composite head is tensioned and bound in the same workshop. Where applicable, product testing and compliance documentation are reviewed according to the target market and agreed product requirements — tell us your destination market and we will confirm what applies to your order. Bell seating and head tension are checked before packing.

OEM / ODM: Make It Yours
Once the instrument is proven, the next question is how it starts carrying your brand:
- Logo: print on the head or the shell, from low trial quantities.
- Colors: natural beech is the default — volume orders can match your Pantone on the head binding or the shell.
- Packaging: the full-color box takes your artwork natively — no sleeve needed.
- Set building: mixed 6″/8″/10″ cartons for classroom kits, barcoded per SKU.
- Documentation: where applicable, product testing and compliance documentation are reviewed according to the target market and agreed product requirements.

What lands at your warehouse:
- Each unit packed in a full-color box; export cartons engineered for drop-test survival, mixed sizes allowed per carton for class-set orders.
- Shipping terms: FOB Ningbo/Shanghai; DDP available for EU and US destinations.
- MOQ, carton quantity and container loading are confirmed on your quotation — ask with your quantity.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is this different from your standard tambourine?
A: Four things: beech plywood instead of poplar, a 55 mm frame instead of 45 mm, a PU paint finish instead of water-based paint, and a multi-layer composite head instead of a plain plastic head. The bearing edge, finger hole and bell hardware are the same, so the two families sit side by side in a classroom without looking mismatched.
Q: Which size should we stock?
A: For a first assortment the 8″ (010801) is the classroom default and the volume mover; add the 6″ (010601) for preschool and gift programs and the 10″ (011001) for ensemble buyers. All three nest visually as one family, so a three-SKU shelf strip reads as a line rather than three products.
Q: Is the drumhead replaceable?
A: The composite head is tensioned and bound over the chamfered edge as a fixed assembly — it is maintenance-free and holds up in humid rooms. For a tunable head with a metal tension hoop, ask us about the leather-head lines on our quotation.
Q: What is the MOQ for OEM orders?
A: MOQ and carton configuration depend on your customization level and destination market — they are confirmed on your quotation rather than a fixed published number. Send your quantity and target market for a costed proposal within 24 hours.
